Ministry Update & Prayer Letter July 2026 | Karakol, Kyrgyzstan Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, We are deeply grateful for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and financial support for church and our ministry. Your partnership enables us to continue serving God in our region, and we thank God for each of you. Our Family and Ministry We are first-generation believers in Jesus Christ in our region, and each of us has a unique journey of faith. Ulan came to Christ in the early 2000s and began serving through a Christian student ministry, dedicating himself to discipling and mentoring young people. Lola came to faith in Christ in 2008 after years of searching for God in a Muslim context. Since then, she has served in worship ministry, youth ministry, and especially in children's ministry. We met through the organising children camps, married in 2015, and today serve together in Ak Bata Church through discipleship, pastoral care, teaching, evangelism, and community outreach. We are also blessed with two sons. This year marks a new season for our family. After serving for five years at a Bible seminary, Lola began working in a regional development project, opening new opportunities to serve communities and build relationships beyond the church walls. At the same time, Ulan began serving in the city administration, creating new opportunities to care for people and reflect Christ's love in the place where God has called us to serve. We are grateful for these new doors that allow us to engage with our community in meaningful ways. About Ak Bata Church Ak Bata Church ("Blessing") was founded in Karakol in 2011. Before the church began, a Christian organization had been serving local youth in our city, and many young people came to know Christ through this ministry. When the ministry office closed and the staff left the region, three local leaders felt called to stay and continue discipling these new believers. As they prayed for God's guidance, the Lord reminded them of His promise to Abraham that all nations would be blessed through him. Holding onto this promise, they founded the church and named it Ak Bata, meaning "Blessing," with the desire to become a blessing to our city, region, and future generations. Over the years we have gathered in homes, rented facilities, and now share another church's building for our Sunday afternoon worship services. Through every season, God has faithfully provided for His church and reminded us that the church is not a building but His people gathered in His name. Our vision remains simple: To know Christ, make Him known, and become a blessing to others. 2026: The Year of Discipleship This year our church declared 2026 to be the Year of Discipleship. Together we are studying what Scripture teaches about discipleship and encouraging every believer to take practical steps of faith and Gospel witness in the places where God has called them — in their families, workplaces, schools, and communities. Our prayer is that every believer would become both a disciple and a disciple-maker. Ministry Updates We thank God for His faithfulness in many areas of ministry: - Our children's ministry continues regularly, planting seeds of faith in the hearts of the next generation. - We are especially encouraged by our young people, who have taken responsibility for worship and praise during our services. Their willingness to serve has become a blessing to the entire church family. - Our church continues to gather in three home groups, where believers study God's Word, pray together, and encourage one another. - Ministry in our region brings both joys and challenges. Some believers from Muslim backgrounds continue to experience pressure because of their faith, while recent changes in religious regulations create additional challenges for churches. Yet we continue to see God's faithfulness sustaining His people. - At the end of summer, our church will gather for our annual retreat at Issyk-Kul Lake for fellowship, rest, worship, prayer, and spiritual renewal. - One of the highlights of the retreat is water baptism. This year we rejoice that three believers have decided to publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ through baptism. - We are also preparing to send two young people from our church to attend Discipleship Training School (DTS) beginning in September. We pray this experience will strengthen their faith and prepare them for future ministry. Prayer Requests Please pray with us for: - Spiritual growth and faithfulness during our Year of Discipleship. - God's blessing and protection over our church retreat. - Spiritual preparation for the three baptism candidates. - God's provision and guidance for the two young people preparing for DTS. - Wisdom for our family as we serve in these new areas of ministry and work. - Unity, courage, and spiritual growth within Ak Bata Church. - Open hearts for the Gospel in our city and region. With gratitude in Christ, Ulan, Lola, and Ak Bata Family Karakol, Kyrgyzstan 사역 소식 및 기도편지 2026년 7월 | 키르기스스탄 카라콜 사랑하는 그리스도 안의 형제자매 여러분, 저희 교회와 사역을 위해 변함없이 기도해 주시고, 격려해 주시며, 재정적으로 후원해 주시는 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다. 여러분의 동역 덕분에 저희는 이 지역에서 하나님의 사역을 계속 감당할 수 있으며, 여러분 한 분 한 분을 위해 하나님께 감사드립니다. °우리 가족과 사역 저희는 이 지역에서 예수 그리스도를 믿게 된 1세대 신자들이며, 각자 하나님께 인도받은 믿음의 여정을 가지고 있습니다. 울란은 2000년대 초반에 예수님을 영접한 후 기독학생사역을 통해 젊은이들을 제자훈련하고 양육하는 일에 헌신해 왔습니다. 롤라는 무슬림 문화권에서 오랜 시간 하나님을 찾던 가운데 2008년에 예수님을 믿게 되었습니다. 그 이후 예배사역, 청소년사역, 그리고 특히 어린이사역을 섬겨 왔습니다. 저희는 어린이 캠프를 함께 섬기면서 만나 2015년에 결혼하였고, 현재는 두 아들과 함께 아크 바타(Ak Bata) 교회에서 제자훈련, 목양, 가르침, 전도, 지역사회 섬김을 감당하고 있습니다. 올해는 우리 가족에게 새로운 전환점이 되는 한 해입니다. 롤라는 지난 5년간 신학교에서 행정을 도우며섬긴 후, 이제는 지역사회 개발 프로젝트에서 일하게 되었습니다. 이를 통해 교회 밖의 지역사회와 새로운 관계를 맺고 섬길 수 있는 기회가 열렸습니다. 동시에 울란은 시청에서 근무를 시작하게 되었으며, 하나님께서 보내신 자리에서 사람들을 섬기고 그리스도의 사랑을 나타낼 새로운 기회를 얻게 되었습니다. 하나님께서 저희에게 지역사회를 더욱 의미 있게 섬길 수 있는 새로운 문들을 열어주심에 감사드립니다. °아크 바타(Ak Bata) 교회 소개 아크 바타 교회(‘축복’이라는 뜻)는 2011년 키르기스스탄 카라콜에서 시작되었습니다. 교회가 세워지기 전, 한 기독교 단체가 우리 도시의 청소년들을 섬기고 있었으며, 많은 젊은이들이 그 사역을 통해 예수님을 믿게 되었습니다. 그러나 그 사역 사무실이 문을 닫고 사역자들이 지역을 떠나게 되자, 세 명의 현지 지도자들은 이곳에 남아 새롭게 믿게 된 성도들을 계속 양육해야 한다는 하나님의 부르심을 받았습니다. 그들이 하나님의 인도하심을 구하며 기도할 때, 하나님께서 아브라함을 통해 모든 민족이 복을 받을 것이라는 약속을 다시 기억하게 하셨습니다. 그 약속을 붙들고, 그들은 우리 도시와 지역, 그리고 다음 세대에 축복이 되기를 소망하며 교회를 세웠고, 이름을 아크 바타(Ak Bata, ‘축복’) 라고 지었습니다. 그동안 저희는 가정에서 모이기도 했고, 건물을 임대하기도 했으며, 지금은 다른 교회의 예배당을 빌려 매주 주일 오후 예배를 드리고 있습니다. 모든 과정 속에서 하나님께서는 신실하게 교회를 돌보셨고, 교회는 건물이 아니라 하나님의 이름으로 모인 하나님의 백성이라는 사실을 계속 가르쳐 주셨습니다. 우리의 비전은 단순합니다. "그리스도를 알고, 그리스도를 알리며, 다른 사람들에게 축복이 되는 것." °2026년: 제자의 해 우리 교회는 올해를 ‘제자의 해(Year of Discipleship)’ 로 선포했습니다. 우리는 함께 성경이 가르치는 제자도에 대해 배우고 있으며, 모든 성도들이 하나님께서 부르신 가정과 직장, 학교, 지역사회에서 믿음을 실제로 살아내고 복음을 전하도록 서로 격려하고 있습니다. 우리의 기도는 모든 성도가 제자가 될 뿐 아니라 다른 사람을 제자로 세우는 사람이 되는 것입니다. °사역 소식 하나님께서 여러 사역 가운데 신실하게 역사하심에 감사드립니다. 어린이 사역은 계속 진행되고 있으며, 다음 세대의 마음에 믿음의 씨앗을 심고 있습니다. 특히 젊은이들이 예배와 찬양을 자발적으로 섬기기 시작한 것이 큰 기쁨입니다. 그들의 헌신은 교회 전체에 큰 축복이 되고 있습니다. 교회는 현재 세 개의 가정모임(Home Group)을 통해 함께 말씀을 배우고, 기도하며, 서로를 격려하고 있습니다. 이 지역에서의 사역에는 기쁨과 어려움이 함께 있습니다. 무슬림 배경의 성도들 가운데는 여전히 신앙 때문에 압력을 받는 분들이 있으며, 최근 종교 관련 법규의 변화로 교회들도 새로운 어려움을 겪고 있습니다. 그럼에도 하나님께서는 자신의 백성들을 신실하게 붙드시고 계심을 계속 경험하고 있습니다. 여름이 끝날 무렵에는 이식쿨 호수에서 교회 연례 수련회를 갖습니다. 교제와 쉼, 예배, 기도, 그리고 영적 회복의 시간이 될 것입니다. 이번 수련회의 가장 큰 기쁨 가운데 하나는 세 명의 성도들이 세례를 통해 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 공개적으로 고백하기로 결정한 것입니다. 또한 9월부터 시작되는 DTS(Discipleship Training School, 제자훈련학교) 에 우리 교회 청년 두 명을 보내기 위해 준비하고 있습니다. 이 시간을 통해 그들의 믿음이 더욱 성장하고 앞으로의 사역을 잘 준비하게 되기를 기도하고 있습니다. °기도제목 다음의 제목으로 함께 기도해 주십시오. 제자의 해를 보내는 동안 모든 성도들이 영적으로 성장하고 끝까지 신실하도록. 교회 수련회 위에 하나님의 보호와 은혜가 함께하도록. 세례를 준비하는 세 명의 성도들이 영적으로 잘 준비되도록. DTS를 준비하는 두 청년에게 필요한 모든 것을 하나님께서 공급하시고 인도하시도록. 새로운 사역과 직장에서 섬기고 있는 우리 가족에게 지혜를 주시도록. 아크 바타 교회 안에 더욱 큰 하나됨과 담대함, 영적 성장이 있도록. 우리 도시와 지역 사람들의 마음이 복음에 열리도록. 기도와 격려, 그리고 후원으로 언제나 함께해 주셔서 진심으로 감사드립니다. 우리는 함께 하나님의 사역에 동참하며, 영원을 위해 투자하고 있습니다. 그리스도 안에서 감사드리며, 울란, 롤라 그리고 아크 바타 교회 가족 일동 키르기스스탄 카라콜
